Account & Sign-In

Your account details, password sign-in, passwordless email codes, and keeping at least one door open

Curate offers two ways into your account — a password, or a one-time code sent to your email — and you choose which of them, or both, stay enabled. This page covers your account details and everything about signing in.

Your Account Details

The Account card in account settings holds your name and email address. Changing the email sends a verification to the new address, and the card shows the pending state until you've confirmed it — your account stays anchored to a verified address at all times.

Two Ways to Sign In

  • Password — the classic arrangement. Set it once, change it whenever you like from the Authentication card, and reset it by emailed link if it slips your mind. The card shows when the password was last changed — a quiet nudge if it's been a long while.

  • Email code — passwordless. Choose Email Code at sign-in, and Curate emails a one-time code to enter instead. If the address can use email codes, a code is on its way; enter it and you're in. Codes are short-lived, and a fresh one is a resend away.

Accounts can be passwordless from the start — registration offers "Use email codes instead of a password," and an account created that way simply never has a password until you decide to set one.

Managing Your Sign-In Methods

The Authentication card carries a toggle for each method — password sign-in and email-code sign-in — so you can run both, or exactly one. The only rule is the obvious one, and the card enforces it: at least one sign-in method stays enabled. Curate won't let you lock the only door with yourself outside.

If sign-in attempts fail repeatedly, sign-in pauses for a while before accepting further attempts — a standard protection worth knowing about before it surprises you mid-tasting.
